I loved this book, and I was bitterly disappointed by this half-assed retelling for the silver screen. Some people will probably say that I'm being unfair rating in comparison to the novel, but it's not true. I think I would've hated this movie even if I hadn't read the book. I actually had the misfortune of seeing it in the theater. I haven't watched the DVD version yet. There's supposed to be an alternate ending. I'll have to check it out, I suppose. I hope it's better then the one they used.
