This album really captures the essential sound of The Beatles at that stage of their career. Many have dismissed this release as not adding anything but I disagree. The performances are much more energized. Listen to the wonderfully energetic "Don't Let Me Down". This version surpasses the version that was released as a single.
And listen to the vocals on "I've Got a Feeling." Paul hits notes so high and with such emotion that it brings to mind his vocals on "Long Tall Sally" and "Oh Darling".
All told, this is a wonderful record and it's much better than the Phil Spector version.

What a wonderful time I had with this game. It was captivating while still being laugh out loud funny. Anyone who thinks they've seen it all will have to admit to being amazed and delighted by the scret of the Mime King. That one still gets me going...as does the ensuing chase.
Sometimes all the reviews are true and in this case, they are.

I have never listened to such a rawly honest recording. This CD moves me in ways most music only tries to. The bittersweet quality of the sardonic wit tempered by the fatality and weakness he was experiencing make this an incredible and moving record.
It's hard to not be moved by "Keep Me in Your Heart" which he recorded at a point when he was too weak to go to the studio anymore. This was recorded on his living room sofa with his daughter and son present. Knowing this only magnifies the emotive quality of the piece.
I've always loved Warren's work but this one goes well beyond and serves to show us all what we'll miss forever.
