Freedom Writers (Ecrire pour exister) (Full Screen&hellip DVD ~ Hilary Swank
5.0 out of 5 stars Inspirational, Jan 11 2009
At first glance, Freedom Writers appears to be just another cliché of a classroom redemption story. However, because it is based on a true story, the movie comes out as a nice tribute to a truly inspirational educator who sacrificed her personal freedoms to acquire those of her students.
Hilary Swank gives out a solid performance in this role and overshadows the fact that the students look too old to be 14-15 years.

The book offers an overview of the various terrorist threats facing Canada and the cultural, ideological and intentions background necessary to comprehend the events of the past 60 years.
I'm giving it a 4 star because the book could have used a little editing. If you can get past the typos, this book is an excellent insight into the threats that face our nation.

I was looking for a book on Canada's involvement in the global scene and was drawn by the title of Byers' book. I was not disappointed in the least.
A must read for anyone frustrated at Canada's disappearing influence abroad and its passive aggressive stance vis-a-vis the international scene.
