If you have an interest in energy, finance, geopolitics and you followed the news in the last 5 years, I would say that you already know about 85 % of the content of the book. What is more appealing in this book is that all facts and events are united to give an overview of the actual situation (with a possible overcome for the future).

Overall, it's worth the reading and gives perspective to a complex matter.

3.0 out of 5 stars Intrigue décevante, Aug. 22 2012
Quelle intrigue décevante... avec une si bonne description et immersion de l'ambiance de surveillance constante, de dénonciation, de tromperie, le dénouement manque un peu d'imagination.

I was really eager to read this book. I learned a lot about the ways this regime works on a daily basis and it is quite frightening. Nonetheless, there is something missing in that book, in a way that you finish your reading and you feel that you would've taken more details, even if they are atrocious to know. Maybe the escapee didn't want to remember everything since it caused him too much pain to tell.

Anyway, read it to learn a little more about this out-of-mind regime that, I hope, will collapse in a foreseable future for the good sake of the North Korean population.
