I've been training in the martial arts for six years and have collected several martial arts books (about 50), many by Loren Christensen. In a word, The Fighter's Body is great! Not only is it informative on so many different levels, but it's funny, too. I recognize Christensen's humor from his other books and as always, it comes when you least expect it and it's sometimes laugh out loud funny.
Most importantly, the suggestions have been working for me. I first tried the suggestions for improving my energy for training, especially increasing my carbs and eating less heavy foods.
