In My Own Words:
Eclectic, esoteric, individualistic. Not prone to things just because they are popular, nor shrinking away from them simply because they are. Interests are Sci-Fi and Horror films and books, pulp fiction, esoteric studies and science. Subjectivity and Objectivity need to find a synthesis. Interested in finding the truth, but willing to go into territories of things that may forever remain hidd… Read more

The Omega Man (Widescreen/Full Screen) DVD ~ Charlton Heston
5.0 out of 5 stars A great movie based on, Aug. 26 2003
Released in 1970, OMEGA MAN is based on the book I AM LEGEND by Richard Matheson. OMEGA MAN and Heston were proceeded by the 1964 LAST MAN ON EARTH with Vincent Price portraying the protagonist. LAST MAN ON EARTH, as a side note, was admitted as an influence to NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD by that films creators. OMEGA MAN departs from the original story and the earlier film by eliminating the vampiric creatures lust for the flesh of living humans. Instead, it is turned into a Luddite-like hatred for technology that drives the protagonistic society against one man.

The Phantom Empire, Vol. 2 [Import] DVD ~ Gene Autry
I mistakenly purchased this DVD (PHANTOM EMPIRE: Part 2) thinking I'd get the entire serial, but all in all, this is a pretty fun viewing. Gene Autry falls into a subterranian city named Murania, and must fight to stay alive against the wicked queen that rules there. Very silly robots about in this story, with short-brimmed cowboy hats on top of their box-like features. A rebellion is being planned, as on the surface of the earth evil scientists plot to steal radium from the Radio Ranch. On top of all this, Radio Ranch is endangered by Gene Autry's inability to make it to perform on his radio show!
Complete with horse chases, sword fights, and deadly technology, this is a fun serial to… Read more
Waxworks [Silent] (Full Screen) [Import] DVD ~ Emil Jannings
Kino does a beautiful presentation of this entry into German Expressionism on film. The plot essentially includes a writer telling stories about figures in a carnival waxworks display. The writer is smitten with the daughter of the waxworks owner, as a sideline. These are fairly incidental to the trilogy of stories that intertwine.
First, Haroun Al-Raschid is played by Emil Jannings. This story is fairly humorous and very fun to watch, with a chase scene through an Escher-esque set as a baker tries to escape after a failed attempt at thievery.
This is followed by Ivan the Terrible, played by Conrad Veidt. Conrad plays an eerie, insane, and meglomaniacal potrayal of the famous… Read more
