Cheesy, But Worth Watching, April 18 2004

Deep Core is one of those Sci-Fi movies that you almost wish they didn't make. The premise is good, about half of the actors are good, there are even some interesting scenes of the ship that aren't half-bad. That's about all that can be said for the movie.

Deep Core is based on the same basic premise as 2003's The Core - Man has screwed up the earth and has to tunnel down into the earth to fix it. The Core is clearly the better of the two movies. Deep Core, on the other hand, has all of the same elements: a ship (The Core's is a lot better looking), a crew, a few nuclear warheads, a person that gets killed by lava, and a person that sacrifices themselves for the rest of the group… Read more

A Sci-Fi Classic

With the ominous "other side" on the rise a key scientist defects. In a last-ditch effort to prevent the defection, they ram a car into his vehicle, causing little injury but injuring his head in the process. In order to save him, our protagonists must go inside his body (shrunken down to the size of a virus) and remove the blood clot from his brain. Unfortunately, all is not what it seems and a series of accidents seems just a little to coincidental. Is there a trader among them?

Asimov's Fantastic Voyage is a spectacular tale of a trip through the human body. Clearly the research has been done, and the book literally takes you on a trip through biology. A must… Read more

Great Multi-Player Game, Feb 16 2004

What do you get when you combine four resurrected heroes, an epic quest and support for up to four players? A great game!

The basic premise of Heroes is that a great threat has returned to the land - a threat that had been previously dispatched by four great heroes. Fortunately, due to the magic of reincarnation, the four heroes have been brought back to try to do it again. Unfortunately, for whatever reason (they don't really go into this) they are only a shadow of their former selves and must reclaim their glory in the tradition dungeons & dragons style: by gaining experience from exploring, solving puzzles and (of course) killing monsters.
