The Skin Map, is by one of my favorite authors and his writing as usual very good. However, this book is unlike anything else that I have written of his. This has a science fiction flavour, with adventure taking place in a parallel universe. As usual he has good characters and a story line that can be followed. For me the problem is that I have enjoyed his historical novels so much in the past that its hard for me to really get in to his mind on this one. A good read that will challenge your thinking especially if you are gifted with great imagination and love of the mysterious.
