I'm sorry... but if you liked movies such as American History X or This Is England and thought that this might be a similar type of movie and that you might like it as well you will most likely be terribly disappointed as I was. Poor acting, low budget sets, fake fight scenes, no plot... I guess you get the point. Skip this one.
First off I have to say I am by no means a hard core or even avid follower of Grave Digger (own a collection cd and Tunes of War remastered) but this epic concert really took me for a pleasant reminder of their seemly simple but masterfully catchy anthems from the Tunes of War album. This album is performed in its entirety at Wacken Open Air 2010, including cool guest appearances/performances by Doro to mention only one. I played the dvd 3 times the first weedend I received it and I just feel I should persuade anyone to by all means grab this one. Did I mention the sound is killer...that always just seems to make it worth it more, doesn't it?
Kirk proves that he is the master of doom laden, riff driven, slowed down, crushing metal. It doesn't seem to matter that he is surrounded by a complete new band on this one it just comes out right. The production quality is amazing (Zeus behind the mixing board). I highly recommend Sever the Wicked Hand as it may be the best Crowbar yet (they are all pretty good if you haven't checked them out before). It seems it matters not if it's Crowbar, Down, or Kingdom of Sorrow, if Kirk Windstein is involved it's gonna be good. Turn it as loud as your skull can stand and be prepared to be crushed.
