Stephen Brunt is the David Halberstam of Canadian sports writers. It's hard to read most other hockey books after you read one from Brunt. He must know that his work is really good, yet he is also humble.
Just read this book and see for yourself.

There is nothing mind-blowing or earth-shattering here. Still, that doesn't mean that this book isn't worth picking up. There are some interesting stories even though the author focuses a little too much on the hagiographic element of Latino ball players.
It's a good intro to the topic and a thouroughly enjoyable casual read.

I just finished reading this wonderful autobiography a few days ago. Since I do most of my reading in bed next to my wife she heard me laughing quite a lot late at night last week. She just picked up the book to read this evening, and I heard her laughing a lot tonight.
