A wonderful film that shows what belief and love and the knowledge that someone believes in one can accomplish! Hope is given where a future seemed not possible.
Raven's flight by Diane Silvey
Raven's flight by Diane Silvey
This novella leads a teen in search of her sister through the rough reality of the Streets of Vancouver, Canada. This book could be used in grade 7-9 classrooms to lead into discussions of social issues, health, drugs, and harsh realities. It is written in the form of a mystery and though it is copyrighted 2000, it is not out of date today!I recommend it for teens, pre-teens,educators,and anyone else interested in what goes on on the streets of many cities today! This book is thought provoking! Diane Silvey, thanks for writting with honesty, though I imagine it could have been harsher.

The Booze Cruise, the Treasure Hunt and The Scattering!
As author Maeve Binchy in Ireland, so too the authors of Cheers and Tears,Paul Minett and Brian Leveson, have a wonderful insight into human foibles! The characters in these films laugh at themselves as well at each other and so the viewer can wholeheartedly sit back and laugh and cry with them! Cheers and Tears is an appropriate tile for this collection, as you are drawn into their confused yet oh very real world! The characters are wildly different yet get along and the bonds of friendship endure despite it all! I would love to see more of this!
