i was a buyer for tower records for a few years and was lucky to get to really build a great collection of dvd's (about 550) and cd's (about 3000)
and too many books on shelves in piles and stored in boxes to mention..and my fiance still puts up with me and gets me gift certificates regularly to amazon

High Fidelity DVD ~ John Cusack
High Fidelity DVD ~ John Cusack
4.0 out of 5 stars Too Close To Home, Jun 11 2004
this movie nailed it on the head, well for me anyway..from being obsessed with making mix tapes..to not knowing where your life is heading..to troubled realtionships and the struggles that come from it..i think i might be Rob Gordon..which i dont know is a good or bad thing..but i do know i love this movie..
if your a music fan or have spent any time scouring used record shops while your wife or girlfriend is at home pissed because there is no room for anymore records. then you will love and relate to this move...its a true to life love story.. a story of trying to figure out where you screwed up in life..and a very funny comedy.
Almost Famous: Untitled (The Bootleg Cut) (3-Disc &hellip
4.0 out of 5 stars Rock and Roll Fantasy, Jun 11 2004
although a based on a true story, Almost Famous plays like every 16 year olds rock and roll fantasy. i love this movie.
i cant vouch for its authenticity but you want to believe its all true...who wouldnt want to run away with a rock band..live among the stars and fall in love with Penny Lane..even for a short time..the movie shows the ups and downs of a touring band trying to make it big..in the still some-what innocent times of the 1970's. humor, tears, and hey even a happy ending..just a great movie for anyone who loves music..the dvd has great extras too the deleted scene with "air-drumming" to stairway to heaven is absolutely hysterical.
Carlito's Way (Collector's Edition) [Import] DVD ~ Al Pacino
almost a sequal to scarface..Carlito Brigante is Tony Montana after doing 15 yrs and having a change of heart...I cant beleive there wasnt some thinking on those lines from the actor and director of both movies...Sean Penn nearly steals this movie as David Kleinfeld Carlitos lawyer is more crooked than the crooks he defends..and Luis Guzmán as Pachanga shows why hes one of the best character actors working today...
