If this game was titled Lords of Shadow without the Castlevania in it, I would have been quite pleased. However, for an old school fan of the franchise this game is an absolute travesty to the Castlevania franchise. It has done nothing but divide the Castlevania fan base.

Gone are the wonderfully eccentric musical stylings and driving beats of Michiru Yamane, and replaced by an absolutely generic 'Hollywood' movie score from some Spanish idiot. The art direction and style has moved towards a boring Lord of the Rings/D&D western look and away from the wonderfully imaginative Gustav Klimt-by-way-of-manga inspired work of Ayami Kojima. I was a little worried since a couple of the other reviews stated not receiving their order, however I did receive my game from Amazon along with Eternal Diva with absolutely no problems.

In terms of the game, well it has all the Layton goodness you have come to expect from the previous installments with some great new additions. Last Specter has more puzzles than ever before and Level-5 has been kind enough to add extra content in the form of a fully playable RPG called 'London Life'. That's two full games for the price of one. You cannot go wrong with this purchase.
