Contraband ~ Velvet Revolver
Contraband ~ Velvet Revolver
3.0 out of 5 stars A punk-grunge rock, Jun 22 2004
First of all, it's closer to Stone Temple Pilots than to Guns N Roses. The lyrics are all the old Scott Welland's style. The album sounds punk and sounds grunge. Maybe these guys have created a new modality: the punk-grunge rock! Scott sounds good, specially on "Fall to Pieces", "Do it For the Kids", "Slither" and "Loving the Alien", which are the best songs of the album. You won't find here the Guns N Roses glam rock. Velvet is inferior, no doubt about it, but it's better than Stone Temple Pilots. But one thing must be said: Slash is a fish out of water when Axl Rose and Izzy Stradlin are not around. Where are those incredible and beautiful guitar… Read more

2.0 out of 5 stars That's it??, Jun 16 2004
First of all, where's Smooth Criminal? The best of all MJ's videos was disfigured, distorted, ripped off... I just bought the DVD because of that masterpiece of magical dancing! It was just a simple thing to do: getting that part out of the Moonwalker movie and injecting into this DVD! What have they done?!! Second, why not all the videos? Should we still depend on VHS old rags? Third, if not all the videos, at least the best ones, right? So where's "Ghost"? That is a masterpiece! Where's "Another Part of Me"? That one is also amazing. They even play it on a huge screen in Disneyland. Where's the final part of "Black or White" (the one he changes into a panther… Read more
Honkin On Bobo (Ltd Ed) ~ Aerosmith
2.0 out of 5 stars No soul on this one!, April 22 2004
I'm a big Aerosmith fan. I love these guys and I have almost all of their releases, but this Honkin'on Bobo, I have to say, is not good. Lack of soul, lack of seriousness. It seems they are playing just for the fun of it. Some songs really seem to be out of tune! No, sorry, but this is not the Aerosmith I'm used to. "Never loved a girl" is the only good cover performance, and "The grind", the only song wrote by the band, is ok. But the rest of the CD is drowning in the sea of frailty! I didn't like it, and if you are a conservative of the Music Party, you probably won't like it either!
