In My Own Words:
Been collecting albums over 30 years. The artists who recorded on A&M label in its formative years are my passion (obsession). I enjoy sharing news and memories with fellow collectors. With much help from my brilliant daughter, I've set up a website at www.geocities.com/LPJim54/, where, slowly but surely, I'm scanning album covers from my collection. Fear Nothing
5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent debut, Jan. 15 2004
I first saw Kevin Montgomery live when he opened for Steven Stills a few months before this disc was released. Montgomery's lyrics and melodies are catchy and memorable. Perhaps he hasn't become more famous as a performer because he's neither pure country nor pure pop. Nevertheless, his work is influential. In fact one tune on this disc was retitled "Red Blooded American Girl" in order to be covered by Juice Newton recently. Let's hope he can be appreciated by listeners as well as other musicians.
Greatest Hits ~ Roger Williams
Greatest Hits ~ Roger Williams
... to the long-time master of the piano. Roger Williams' arrangements of popular tunes have made him among the top artists in the music business for over 45 years. At age 75 his energy in live performance rivals most who are a third that age. While this collection is relatively brief, every selection is an essential one from among his prolific catalog. You'll play it every time you're in a mood to relax.
Greatest Hits ~ Frankie Avalon
Greatest Hits ~ Frankie Avalon
This 10-track compilation of Frankie Avalon's late '50s and early '60s hits is a great bargain you shouldn't pass up. The music is always fun and upbeat, and like Frankie, it has stood the time very well. "Just Ask Your Heart," my personal favorite, has an unmistakable Rick Nelson influence. Avalon handles a variety of styles well, so listeners of any age can enjoy this.
