Telluric Chaos ~ Iggy and the Stooges Pop
Telluric Chaos ~ Iggy and the Stooges Pop
This grey area disc contains an excellent, hot rockin' Stooges club reunion show featuring the original line-up. Iggy and the band show no signs of age, and retain an edge that would put even many contemporary alt./hard rockers too shame. The soundboard quality is excellent, unlike many of the audience records of Iggy that have been floating around out there over they years, and is a completely enjoyable listen. Get this one for sure!
Fully Unleashed: The Live Gigs, Vol. 2 ~ Cactus
5.0 out of 5 stars Cactus Boogie!, Dec 16 2010
Cactus was one of the early seventies hard rock greats, a proto-type blend of blues, boogie, and roots music, given to long entended solos and jams in which the band really cooked. The best way to experience this is on newly released live discs from back in the day. The studio albums, while a good listen, tended to be cut back quite a bit to fit onto the limited space of a vinyl release. Here no such edits seem to exist. Unlike Unleashed Vol 1, also an excellent listen, this set includes a complete show, in which you can better sense the whole flow of the performance. The band totally cooks. The sound quality is excellent. This is a limited edition disc that will no doubt soar in value once… Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Tasty Apples!, Dec 16 2010
A lot of excellent and varied music was released on the Beatles label besides their own music; from power pop house band Badfinger to a wide range of interesting styles including; folk, soul, avant garde, indian music and jazz. In many ways the first indie label, where the muscians art trumped commercial considerations, you get a great cross section of their releases here, all in one box, with the Apple singles disc and a double bonus disc of unreleased Badfinger tracks etc. thrown in for good measure. An intriguing taste of the Beatles late 60's/ early 70's Apple releases, it is highly recommended!
