In My Own Words:
Music, I breath it, I digest it, I love it and live it. Rolling Stones fan & 'Metal Head' with drifting towards the blues and the Beatles. I have seen the light in the form of 'stoner rock'. Thank 'god' that Wino, Fu Manchu & Queens Of The Stone Age are not owned by Disney, Time-Warner or Sony.....yet. Thank 'god' that Wino, Fu Manchu & Queens Of The Stone Age are not owned by Disney, Time-Warner or Sony.....yet. I must mention The Dictators & American Dog; they are currently America's best rock bands. Please don't hold 'The Osbournes' against the first 6 Black Sabbath albums.
Love to read when I get the chance; and get mildly upset when I feel my time has been wasted. Recently have discovered David Gemmell and I can not get enough of his books...'most awesome'!
I believe the 'stupid' gene has become dominant and the 'smart' gene has become recessive. If you've ever driven on the 'Dan Ryan Expressway' in Chicago, stood in line at the US Post Office or shopped at Wal-Mart on Saturday night, you know where I'm coming from.
Nearing or already into my mid-life crisis. I get really confused when I think Ted Nugent & Angus Young sound better to me now than in the 70's.
Born in Chicago, work in Chicago and most likely will be reincarnated in Chicago. I practice Optometry and have for 17 years. I am finally getting really good.
Exile On Main Street, Never Mind The Bollocks and The Godfather (Godfather part 3 doesn't count).
Driving an expensive car does not entitle you to act like an @ss when driving; and not use your turn signal. Your car is not a weapon. Please stop at the toll booth even if you have an I-Pass. Again, most cars are equipped with turn signals...so use 'em. Never was into Tolkien as a 'kid', but the rings rule.

With tons of books swirling around regarding the now legendary KISS, it becomes very difficult to separate fact from fiction (for example, Gene & Paul really care about the fan$). This book sheds away a lot of the bull and leaves the reader with a very objective & realistic picture of the band. Of all the books I have read on KISS, this one & Gordon G.G. Gebert's "Kiss & Tell" are far away the best. If the hardcover seems a little pricey, just search it out at your local library like I did. (Use the extra money to buy the remastered version of Ace's solo album). A must have read for anyone who had the orignal album posters from "Alive" on their… Read more

"In Rock" is arguably on of the first true "heavy metal" albums. It still stands as one of Deep Purple's best & "heaviest" works. The sound on this cd version, however, leaves much to be desired. I will swear my old lp sounds better. So 5 stars for the music, 1 star for the sound. Your best option is to spend a few extra bucks on the Import "25th Anniversary" edition. Unlike many "limited editions" & "remasters" the bonus tracks on the "In Rock 25th Anniversary" kick @ss thanks to some remixing by Roger Glover. Again, pass on this one in favor of the better sounding and expanded Import version.

In very very tiny print on the back of the jewel case is printed the note: "the sound quality of these recordings is not equal to today's standards". Well the sound quality is not equal to the standards of an "day". They are fair to very poor, bootleg quality audience recordings at best. Most likely recorded on sub-cassette quality equipment. True they have "archival" value, but only for the extremely dedicated blues fanatic. Anyone not steeped in the blues up to their earlobes will have an extremely difficult time even getting thru the first few tracks. I am a blues fanatic, but I also still possess most of my hearing in all the frequency ranges… Read more
