In My Own Words:
I am 45 years old as of the year 2000. I am semi-retired as I am also partially disabled from a car accident 16 years ago. To keep my mind busy, I write software from my home in Carson City, Nevada. I also do a lot of reading, hence hanging around Amazon.com. I program in Delphi, C++Builder, and Visual C++.

Faraway Land ~ Ron Block

What else can I say?! I have been asking myself "where has this guy been?" Every CD I have ever purchased had at least one "not so good song" on it, but not this CD. Every song is great. The harmony, the music, the words are excellent. This is the first review that I have written where I am speechless. You should know that these are Christian songs though, and Ron sure lets you know with the content. A country flavor with a bit of folk genre is as best as I could describe how the music is. First off, there are two things that would have made this book better. Not putting any chapters on the CD (and lose a lot of value), and make it a hardcover instead of the flimsy glue-back binding. I like my textbooks to be strong and able to fold out on a desk and not bend permanently. This one as thick as it is really should be a hardcover.
On to more important things...
The content is excellent. A lot of possible space wasting images have been left out which leaves a lot more information. There are plenty of images to get the point across. It starts out with chapters explaining the more simple features and ending with OpenGL & DirectX, and Creating Help Files. The… Read more
Learn Object Pascal with Delphi with CDROM by Warren Rachele
First off, this IS just like the back of the book says, "Level: Introductory to Intermediate." From the first chapter to the last, old style console words like ReadLn and WriteLn are used and bring back old memories, as the source code is all in console mode. No Windows programs here, but if you are in need of learning just what it says "Learn Object Pascal with Delphi" then that's exactly what you get. The companion CD has Delphi5 Standard version and all of the books source code.
There is only one chapter devoted to Objects and that I find fault with. It is called "Introduction to Object Oriented Programming with Object Pascal." In my opinion there… Read more
