The Road to Serfdom by F. A. Hayek
The Road to Serfdom by F. A. Hayek
I adored Hayek's points about the linkage between Stalinist Russia and the National Socialist in Western Europe. It helps the American/British right debunk the myth that Hitler was of a conservative mould.
We should not forget the power of the free market. When man can no longer control his own economic future, then there is no freedom. Milton Freidman's 'Capitalism and Freedom' is another great work displaying the erudition of economics that every College Student and most High School students should be aware of.
Slander: Liberal Lies About the American Right by Ann Coulter
5.0 out of 5 stars The Truth Comes Out, March 6 2004
I find it funny how the liberals always howl when quoted back in their own words. I especially find it funny that Ann is able to show the unbelievable liberal bias in the Publishing industry. All of these 'surprise' best sellers never quite added up to much.
The best part of the book centers on the controversy surrounding former Congresswoman Susan Molinari. Despite the plethora of liberal Democrats dominating newsrooms, it was a crime to hire one lone Republican woman for a Cooking segment on the weekend.
Ann Coulter only exposes the all-out revulsion the left controlled media has for conservatives. It is about time we conservatives rise up to defend ourselves. Bravo! Ann… Read more
Grand Old Party: A History of the Republicans by Lewis Gould
4.0 out of 5 stars A basically fair account, Feb. 15 2004
I will admit right away that I am a conservative Republican. I did like the book, but found it grating in some places. Therefore I rate it as a fair account. (Nelson Rockefeller was not Conservative! Michael Dukakis is not a moderate!)
I also find it odd that the publisher couldn't get one Republican elected official to review the book. (While the Book on the Democrats has two such reviews.) It is also notable that the Republicans had to suffer disection by a liberal partisan Democrat. The publishers let another liberal Democrat write the book on the Democrats. It struck me as true to life.
