The Handbook is a great reference for all and I would hope that more of our political and business leaders would read it.
Rob Hopkins does a wonderful job applying the permaculture principles to social organization for the purposes of restoring local community resilience. I was like many who found the hard reality of peak oil overwhelming and very frightening. This handbook offers many ideas and solutions to overcome that pit of despair and downward spiral into apathy and extinction.
Love this book! The principles introduced are part of the multifaceted permaculture solution for many of the greatest challenges that our civilization is facing. Eye opening, but not fear-inspiring.
I needed this book for a course I was taking. At first I thought the painfully detailed instructions may be helpful for those first starting out with computers (and need to know how to open files and applications). However, as I got into this book, I found much of the content was repetitive, pretty much word for word, and the simple instructions presented in the beginning intro chapters were also found later in the book (where you could safely assume that the reader would know such basics). This repetition really distracted from the other helpful information and I have no desire to use this book as a reference once I have completed the second course that has been chained to this book… Read more
