Lejania ~ Inti-Illimani
Lejania ~ Inti-Illimani
I saw Inti Illimani live and was so impressed with them. I've always loved music from the Andes. They are a fantastic group who are very versatile musicians. They play each other's instruments, it's unbelievable. This CD is very representative of their repertoire. After seeing them live I bought 2 other CD's from them which was not quite their traditional music as they were partnering with other musicians. The CD's were fantastic, but I wanted to have CD's with their traditional roots. Those CD's are a little harder to find as they were recorded a while back, but was worth looking for it. If you love music from the Andes, this CD will not disappoint you.
Talking Timbuktu ~ Ali-Farka Toure
Talking Timbuktu ~ Ali-Farka Toure
5.0 out of 5 stars EXCELLENT CD, May 3 2010
I had never head of Ali Farka Toure or Ry Cooder. This CD was recommended to me by a friend. I love it. I have some African music CD, but this is quite different and has a blues feeling to it and is softer. The two artists complement each other well. I'm very glad I bought it as it add diversity in my collection. An excellent choice. Highly recommend.
Invisible Acts of Power: Personal Choices That Cre&hellip by Caroline Myss
I had Secret Contract in book form and Anatomy of the Spirit in cassette form, which were two of the firsts to come out, her best know probably being Secret Contract in which she deals with archetypes. I enjoyed both tremendously, so I bought two others in CD form, one being Invisible Acts of Power. She gets very repetitive so I got bored with the other ones. Caroline Myss has a good message and is a terrific speaker, although her voice tends to get on my nerves after a while.
