I bought this book a few years ago - because I was considering purchasing a pump. The price put me off - instead I continued multiple injections using my "poor man's pump" - using the info in this book. Lantus came along and things improved even better for me with A1C's averaging 7.0 - but I wanted better control and freedom. For 2 weeks now I have a use of an insulin pump for free (this is not unusual just inquire - you will be surprised) - and am starting to see why diabetics go onto pumps!! After 40 years of being a diabetic since the age of 6 - I have a feeling I may purchase an insulin pump even if I have to cut back on a few things in life.
