Julia Child 101; an excellent read!, Nov 13 2012

Julia Child wasn't well known to me growing up in England, but I have to admit to becoming fascinated by her, since being exposed to the Hollywood version of her in the movie "Julie/Julia," and tongue-in-cheek, as I'm sure that was to a large extent, it did inspire me to want to find out more about this driven woman. I enjoyed reading Julia's "My Life in France" which I have previously reviewed; she certainly must have been a very flambuoyant lady with an extensive lust for life! Bob Spitz's book about Julia, I have no doubt, is extremely well researched. Couldn't get into it...you might though, Aug 19 2012

I so enjoyed Julie Powell's first book about the Julie/Julia project she undertook, and expected her second book to be as readable. I just couldn't get into it, maybe because it didn't get the same hype as the first one did because of the film made from it, but to me it just didn't seem to be written by the same person. I don't often give up on a book, but this one had me beat!
