I support the fair, respectful and compassionate treatment and rights of non-human people. I like helping animals in need and enjoy the animals that share my life very much. I do rescue work with abandoned and feral cats. I have 3 cats, Lily, Firefly and Najai. All them were rescues of one kind or another. Please spay or neuter your pets. Many of the ones that are already born have it very hard. Adopt a cat only if you can offer a loving home for life.
I have four handsome, intelligent, free-spirited sons, Justin, Benjamin, Nicholas and Jonathan who are grown and out on their own. I have a beautiful little grandson named Oscar.
I live at the river's edge where it gently bends into a lily-pad crowded lagoon. My home is on the site where the indigenous people camped in the days preceding the 'signing' of the Treaty of the Cedars that stole four million acres of their lands in Northeastern Wisconsin and forcibly relocated them to a tiny reservation. There is a big historical marker that I can see from my home commemorating this white man thievery as though it is something of which to be proud.
One of my favorite places in the whole world is Wales. I haven't been there in a long time but a part of my soul is always there with my family and ancestors. Prince Edward Island is another beautiful place with which my soul resonates. Other favorite places are the Badlands and the sacred Paha Sapa of South Dakota. I love Wyoming and Montana with a passion. I have visited 45 of the 50 states as well as England, Wales, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, and New Brunswick. I have not yet been to Hawaii, Alaska, North or South Carolina or Florida. Some day I would like to visit Scotland, Greece, Malta, France, Mexico and Nova Scotia.

My first thought is "How does someone find a publisher for an entire book on the subject of just one rather common weed?" I am glad someone thought it was a good idea because this is a lovely and interesting book. This book is intended for children in grades 3 through 5 but it is also a very good introduction into plant anatomy, sexuality and life cycle that could benefit any amateur gardener who may not have much in the way of science behind his interest in the hobby. The many colored photographs throughout the book are the best part but the informative text may not truly hold the attention of young school children. If you want to inspire a budding botanist this book will be a helpful… Read more

I recently took this off the shelf at my local video rental store because the picture on the box showed a white haired Bridget Fonda dressed in a beautiful sparkly white dress and a snow white cloak made of feathers. It looked to me like Hallmark Entertainment was going to at least try to do this film up right. As it turned out, a lavish budget did provide many beautiful costumes, sets, and location scenery, but the simplicity and innocence of Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale got lost in three hours of so-so acting, a poor screen play, dreadful dialog, bad film editing and lousy direction from David Wu. In the original fairy tale the protagonists are two children named Kay and… Read more

This story takes place on a reconstructed Earth of the future, following the devastations of a meteor hit. People are either ridiculously rich or unemployed impoverished fringe folk who have been displaced by a multitude of robotic workers. I'm not sure how the rich got richer but this is a sort of not too brave new world where babies selected by type are created in test tubes and delivered from artificial wombs to parents kept eternally young by Rejuvinex. Police keep everyone who's rich safe from everyone who's poor by monitoring them electronically. Kind of like the jail bracelet concept in reverse. The 16 year old protagonist, Jane, is a totally sheltered, spoiled rich girl whose growth… Read more
