Like many others who grew up in the late 80's and 90's, I was a GNR fan. I still am today, as I think they put out outstanding albums (Appetite and the Use your Illusions albums). The story of Duff McKagan is an ispiring one. From a kid who grew up in Seattle to the fame of GNR and finding is way out of drug and alcool abuse, I can honestly say that everyone will love this memoir. It sure inspired me to be a better person and to persever no matter what comes at you! Thank you Duff for a great read.
The cookbook is great, but I think she uses too many low-fat pre-packaged foods in her recipes. It did give me a couple of ideas for some meals, but in general I prefer cookbooks that use 100% real foods.
The Sparkpeople cookbook is not just a cookbook. It's also filled with success stories from Sparkpeople members who have been sucessful in their journey to weight loss and also the story of Chef Meg and how she stays active, eats healthy and takes care of her family. The recipes in the book are simple and delicious. I highly recommand this cookbook, even if you are not a Sparkpeople member.
