In my spare time I enjoy listening to music as well as playing it (though I'm pretty much incompetent in that respect - all of my work is completely improvisational because I can't read music), reading, watching movies (usually independent, but I'm open to almost anything, save for the really insipid, melodramatic mush that permeates theatres these days), playing sports (more so than watching them - though I have been watching a lot of baseball as of late), gambling, etc. As far as music goes, I'm also open minded, though I am not a fan of teen pop, new country, and 'bling bling' hip-hop - my tastes generally run toward punk rock, emo, metalcore and grindcore, but I also listen to techno, swing, reggae, alternative rock (such a vague all-encompassing term, isn't it?), and other hip-hop subgenres as well. The books I'm into are usually of the self-help variety, or are set in an appealing environment (the Jersey shore, Vegas, etc.), but I'll read anything other than par-for-the-course romance novels. I write reviews on all three (leaning toward music though - this industry is of particular interest to me because of its many peaks and valleys over the years) and may branch out into some other products offered on Amazon as well.

You're not going to hear anything here that hasn't already been done a million times before - and better (although with this genre, that's not saying much). The secret to Simpson's success? Why, it had absolutely nothing to do with crafting an album of epic proportions that would make even the strictest… Read more
