I read the monk who sold his Ferrari, many years ago and was really moved by what the book had to say. Same feelings now after reading the saint, surfer and CEO. I can honestly say there was nothing in the book that i had not heard before, but how many of us actually take heed of the lessons presented, and try and incorporate them into our lives. This book was written on many different levels and even though i have been at this personal growth stuff for many years it is nice to be reminded of lessons and teachings that one may have forgotten about or was not ready for when it was read the first time. historical fiction at its finest, told in a first nations traditional sense of storytelling. Well worth the read. I am not usually a fiction reader, but from the time i picked it up I had a hard time putting it down.

I could only give this book 5 stars on the rating system, but would give more if given the chance. As a jr. constable in one of canada's most violent cities the reality of hypervilglance and the highs and lows that coincide with it are a hard fact of the job. Dr. Gilmartin give officers and their families a chance to answer the questions of why has my new police spouce changed since becoming a cop.He also addresses many negative outcomes that many officers face. While civillians may encounter adrenalan rushes once in a lifetime many officers may experience this on a nightly basis and the long term effects of these highs can be devastating both mentally, emotionally, and physically.
