I was bed ridden for 6 weeks. This helped pass the time when hours never seemed to end. It is a very traditional second Doctor story. It is written by a vey well known SF author who really knows his subject matter, and it still comes over as a very good Doctor Who story at the same time.
I will not summarize the story here. It is performed by Patrick Troughton's son, David. He does a fantastic job of impersonating his Dad. He does some good voice work here. It is never dull and the pace is just right.
This was really good for me to listen to. It helped me to pass the time, and at 8 discs it will keep you happy for hours.
The first printing of this book is missing 2 pages of story and has been recalled. New copies are not ready yet so if you are reading this close to October 16th, it will be the incorrect version.
Feb 2013. This was supposed to be corrected, There are two pages inserted between pages 98 and 99 that have no numbers on them.
Unfortunately, the copy I ordered from here is not corrected. Looks like Amazon never returned their defective copies. DC just tipped in another page. The other reviewer is correct.

FUNimation Issues Recall of DARKER THAN BLACK SEASON ONE
After recalling all Darker than Black Season One box sets with the UPC code 704400074578, FUNimation announced a corrected version of the collection is scheduled for a May 4 release. Due to an encoding error, the picture and both Japanese and English audio on disc 3 of the recalled set begin to skip and break up heavily several minutes into episode 18. All sets with UPC code 704400074578 are affected by this issue.
