Normally if I buy a movie, even if I don't really like it I'll keep it to look at again in a couple of years but with this one I knew no matter what, I'd never want to see it again. The filmmakers obviously had great intentions. A little world where being gay didn't matter at all to anyone. Your high school crush on your straight best friend who really wished he could return your romantic love because your friendship was so strong, affectionate townsfolk, a beautiful setting. This is a useless book. There are far more informative books on the art of the various massage techniques than this book even mentions and books by the likes of Herb Ritts and Tom Bianchi and others for photographs of beautiful male bodies. I could hardly believe that the author supposedly has published 10 books on massage and sexuality. Some people get a quite far by having no other skill than the sheer ability to talk about the big taboo's in life as if they were "oh so normal". This author should stick to the practice of his craft rather than attempting to teach it via books. This is the first of a promising new series. The protagonist is a bit of a smart alec bookish book store owner with a heart problem. He came into a bit of money from his grandmother that allowed him to buy the book store and apartment above and which left him financially comfortable if not rich. The inheritance has also, conveniently, left him with the time and money to persue these surprising little mysteries that fall in his lap. The character is a bit of a stereotype, but a very likeable stereotype in this case. The story develops quickly with an appropriate amount of red herrings thrown in to keep things moving along.
