I bought the small SS version from Amazon on sale. The machine is handsome but the rice cooking options are very inflexible and the instructions really quite useless. Cooking the rice takes forever. I sent mine back and will put up with cooking on the stove top.

One of the reasons I loved this book is because I grew up near Madresfield,and actually played tennis with one of the Lygon nieces. I met Mona the Dane when I was about 8.For me it was wonderful to be able to relate the parts of Waugh's Mad World that he transferred to Brideshead.It is also a wonderful evocation of life around Malvern at that time. Beautifully written.
