I doubt that I am going to get many helpful votes for some of the reviews I give, ie trashing Pirates of the Caribean and Powder. But I always believed you should stand by your beliefs, even in cinema.

Annihilation: War of the Spide Queen, Book V by Philip Athans
4.0 out of 5 stars good book, July 19 2004
I thought that this was a good book, but it had the definite feel of a transitionary book, not the final chapter of a five part series.
A lot of the characters seem to take a back seat to what is going on. Pharun is muted throughout the book, he has a role definitely, but he has a distand feel. Danifrae, the battle captive has a much wider role, they finally fleashed out her character more like they'd been hinting at. Gromph begins his his assault on Dyrr, with a lengthy battle, a really lengthy battle. Quenthell is unfortunately absent throughout a lot of the book. This is curious considering they hint throughout the book that there is a lot more to her than you can see. This… Read more

This game had a lot of potential. It had an interesting premise, cool weapons, lots of bad guys, cool landscapes, etc.....
But the game just didn't seem to work despite all the parts. The action was done in sequences, where invariably music will start and enemies will attack you. The levels don't have a lot to them, mainly involving killing enemies then moving to the next level. the plot also has a tendency to vanish at times.
This is a pretty game and has some interesting parts, but just didn't keep me interested to the end.

This is one of those rare movies that doesn't try to hide its flaws, and actually benefits from them giving the entire movie a campy feel to it. The accents are mixed up, the animation crude and often using recycled sequences, the movement is jerky, scenes are often using war footage that was animated over, and the jokes are often crude and dark natured. But the film in a whole works.
Though it is a bit preachy in its ways, this movie makes you interested in the characters. It also brings up some intersting and satirical ideas.
