Confessions ~ Usher
Confessions ~ Usher
Although I have been known to momentarily like Usher singles in the past, that quickly changes about and fourth hour after I hear it...by then radio has played it 5.3 million times and I tire of them quickly.

The singles from "Confessions" are no different than any of his previous ones. His music always sounds the same. "Burn" is eerily like "U Got It Bad" and "Confessions Part II" is similar to the thousands of other boring R&B songs dominating the airwaves. "Yeah" was cool and innovative upon its release, but radio, MTV, and VH1 massacred it and now I can't even bare to hear it. It's a shame cuz it's a good song.

Pieces of Me ~ Ashlee Simpson
Pieces of Me ~ Ashlee Simpson
First off, this is a terrific pop song with a little bit of a rock-tinge to it. Ashlee's vocals are decent and pull it off which along with her MTV exposure, this is a sure-fire hit. So the song gets 5 stars, but Ashlee's talent and artistry are questionable which is why I deducted a star. Her voice isn't that good which her show displays when she is trying to record. On her show she tries to assure everyone that she's not riding on Jessica's coat-tails which is why she's going the ummm..."punk" route *didn't Avril milk that cow dry?*

Face it Ash, you really are riding Jessica's coat-tails. If she hadn't had renewed success with the Newlyweds, you'd probably be working at… Read more

California (W/1 Bonus Track) ~ Wilson Phillips
California (W/1 Bonus Track) ~ Wilson Phillips
4.0 out of 5 stars Welcome Back, Girls, Jun 30 2004
First off, I consider it quite an accomplishment for these girls to record and release this album 12 years after their last album "Shadows and Light." In the early 90's they had a string of very successful top 40 hits...seven to be exact and three of those hit #1.

Now, 12 years later they have released "California." Although its an album of cover songs, it's a pretty good one at that. The California theme makes it an awesome summer album. The album kicks off with a cover of Linda Ronstadt's "You're No Good." Let's face it...Linda owns that song, but the girls made a decent stab at it. "California" is also a good cover of Joni Mitchell's original… Read more
