I LOVED this book! What a little masterpiece. It was so engrossing and I was impressed with the characters and so moved by each one. I was sorry it had to come to an end (always a good sign!) Bravo Kathryn Stockett! I eagerly await your next book, though I can't imagine how you will top this one!
I have read the previous reviews, and have been amazed that some are quite negative! But I disagree with them...I thought this was a great book. I am one of those readers that embraces ALL the characters in these books (Lord John, William, Ian, Roger, Bree, etc)are all favorites so I'm thrilled that the author gives us so much insight into their lives and how they intermingle with Claire and Jamie's. I think this is a love story on many levels, between Jamie and Claire of course, but also their friends and family. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book and I am so sorry that it is over. It is very graphic which is not something I'm usually into at all, but this whole series is great, and this book in particular was especially good. Her characters are so strong and I love her writing style. Now I'm in mourning because it will be another long wait until the next one comes out. But a J R Ward book is definitely worth waiting for.
