5.0 out of 5 stars A Nice Change..., Nov 12 2006
A while back I wrote a review that mentioned Gerri Hill needed to change her stories up a little. I was tired of the lone-lesbian-with-a-secret theme. It was a nice surprise to find this book does have a different formula...hell, Gerri even used typically 'girl' names for her characters instead of the usual Luke, Shane, or Charlie's from previous books!

"Behind the Pine Curtain" is the story of Jacqueline and Kay, childhood friends that were separated from each other when Jackie's mom found out her daughter was a lesbian. Jacqueline was sent packing, armed with a bus ticket and one hundred dollars (courtesy of mom).

2.0 out of 5 stars A Rental...at Best..., Oct 22 2006
I kept waiting for the movie to get better...and kept waiting for Conrad Pla to come across as believable. Neither happened. His part was poorly written and his acting was horrible. How does a Montreal vice cop (who didn't really ever go to work) afford a '59 Corvette, an upscale apartment, and a family? This movie was pretty much like a cheezy sitcom. The storyline was a mess of events that kept the movie far too busy to be enjoyable. You will find every possible stereotype in this movie: The limp noodle lesbian in denial, the pot-head roommate, the newbie lesbian, the funky artist lesbian, the nice guy boyfriend with a up-tight mother, etc. This is probably a movie that would be okay to rent, but purchasing it is a real waste of money. I watched it once and then sold my copy on Ebay!
