5.0 out of 5 stars Witty, Excellent Story, June 12 2008
I'm surprised at some of the negative reviews on here saying the book is boring, the dialogue annoying, and the plot lacking. I'd say they've missed the point of this book. It does have a good plot, but it's more realistic than the usual story. Yes, it may be more commonplace, but I found it refreshing. The story focuses on conversation and people and Catherine, which I enjoyed because it was so skillfully done. The characters rang so true, Henry Tilney made me laugh out loud, Catherine was sweet and funny and the ending was wonderful. I loved this book! It's my second favourite Austen book next to Emma.

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Good, June 12 2008
I picked this book up very reluctantly, though it was recommended to me, because we all know how many horrible books like these there are. People try to make money off the success of Jane Austen's books, but the results are usually only a good option if you want to totally ruin your enjoyment of the original.

This book however, is not like that. It's actually really good! The writing flowed nicely, and if not quite as intricate as Jane Austen's, it wasn't annoying or stilted like I worried it might be. Darcy came off as extremely likeable and I felt like I was reading Pride and Prejudice, just more of it, like the deleted scenes or something.

2.0 out of 5 stars Pretty lame, sadly., June 10 2008
It's a shame that whoever wrote this book clearly has no idea how to write a Choose Your Own Adventure book. I love that format of book and I love Austen, so I should have found this book amazing, right? But it's not that great.

The first choice I got was to go left or right on a path- I chose one way and was attacked by gypsies and died. Along with that abrupt start I was chastized for being so stupid as to die so early on. With that impressively useless beginning, I continued. One of the next choices I was set, after a comment telling me how dumb I was for making that choice, sent me to the exact same page as the other choice. That one also told me it was a stupid choice.
