I have loads of Japanese cookbooks. This is one that I like more than many. Ingredients aren't all that hard to come by and they are pretty well-suited to a Western palate. It's a book I'd recommend.

5.0 out of 5 stars My first book on sushi, May 23 2010
My introduction to sushi was on my honeymoon in San Francisco in 1981. I mistakenly thought I was going for a drink and so agreed with the hostess to be seated at the bar! Boy, was I in for an eye opener. This was the first book I bought about sushi and sure wish I had read it before venturing into that sushi bar. I loaned my book some time ago and never got it back. So am re-ordering it because it is just beautiful.

I enjoyedthis book on many levels and have loaned my copy to a number of people. While this is fiction, I think it should be required reading for any health professional working with seniors. It illustrates, in a very realistic way, how we are not patient-centred in seniors health care. Plus it's a fabulous read - I didn't put it down and completed reading in a day or so, having stayed up late one night while on vacation.
