Procol Harum - Live in Copenhagen DVD ~ Procol Harum
Any fan of Procol Harum should pick up this DVD now! The band is in fine form, the video is well shot, the sound is crisp & well balanced, and the song selection spans the band's entire career: full of classics, rarely played gems, and a few relatively newer cuts from 1991's "Prodigal Stranger" CD. This is a nearly 2 hour concert from Denmark in December, 2001. The band includes, Gary Brooker (piano, vocals), Matthew Fisher (Hammond B3 organ), Geoff Whitehorn (guitar), Mark Brzecki(drums), and Matt Pegg (bass guitar). From sizzling rockers like "Memorial Drive" and "Piggy Pig Pig" to beautiful ballads like "A Salty Dog" and "Homberg" (and all points in between) the band plays with great… Read more

We Got It ~ Jimmy Thackery & The Drivers
JIMMY THACKERY IS AS GREAT A GUITARIST AS THERE IS ON THE PLANET, AND A FINE WHISKEY-VOICED SINGER TO BOOT. MY ONLY COMPLAINT IS THAT JIMMY'S ALBUMS HAVE NOT YET MANAGED TO RIVAL HIS INCENDIARY LIVE SHOWS. THIS RELEASE IS NO EXCEPTION. THIS IS JIMMY'S TRIBUTE TO THE LATE, GREAT MUSCLE SHOALS R&B MUSICIAN, EDDIE HINTON. LIKE THACKERY, HINTON WAS A VASTLY UNDER-RATED MUSICIAN. JIMMY DOES HIM PROUD HERE, WITH EXCELLENT COVERS OF MANY HINTON SONGS AND A FEW OF THACKERY'S OWN COMPOSITIONS AS WELL. AS USUAL, THACKERY'S FINE BAND, THE DRIVERS, TEAR IT UP. I PERSONALLY PREFER THE MORE GUITAR-INTENSE BLUES-ROCK RELEASES THAT THACKERY HAS PUT OUT, BUT THIS IS EASILLY A 4 STAR RATING. (IF IT WAS… Read more
Classic Rock Legends: Wishbone Ash [Import] DVD ~ Wishbone Ash
This is an absolutely phenominal DVD by one of the greatest bands ever! The song selection is excellent.Any fan of the band will be thrilled by the songs played. People unfamiliar with Wishbone Ash will be blown away by stellar performances of many of their best songs. The sound is very good. The camera work, ditto. My only complaint is the same as my critiques of the shows I saw on this tour: the show was not long enough, and the band doesn't get a chance to really stretch out on the long improvizations for which they are so renowned. Still, this DVD is better than 99% of the musical DVD's out there. Buy this bargain now. You will not be disappointed!
