3.0 out of 5 stars Chicago light, June 17 2004
This was an okay performance. But, it was certainly not by request. One fan called in a song from Chicago IV called "In Terms of Two", but the request was ignored and "If You Leave Me Now" was played instead. I had hoped to hear some deep album cuts, but no such luck. Additionally, it is worth noting that the band has never played a Terry Kath (deceased guitarist/vocalist)song in concert since he died. Kath songs were not usually singles, but Chicago has ignored some great songs. Chicago would be well advised to disband until such time as Peter Cetera is interested in returning and they need to ask drummer Danny Seraphine back. The new drummer Tris Imboden is a… Read more
Raw - Real Artists Working - D DVD ~ Chicago
1.0 out of 5 stars Chicago made boring, April 20 2004
I am a big Chicago fan. However, this video/DVD is just boring. Obviously, Chicago doesn't need to rehearse much to play the same basic concert list of 25 year old songs. Plus, Chicago is lacking to many original members these days to be the great band they once were. What the public wants is a great Chicago DVD of an entire concert from the 1970s. Please note, Chicago has not released an album of original material since approximately 1990. If this is a video of real artists working, then what are they working on. Apparently, just to get a paycheck playing all their old songs.
In Concert at Greek Theatre [Import] VHS ~ Chicago
5.0 out of 5 stars J. Johnson- Florida, Oct. 10 2002
Chicago is still a great band in concert. The downside is that two key original members are gone. Terry Kath is easily the greatest rock/jazz guitarist ever. Peter Cetera was an excellent vocalist and songwriter. Bill Champlin is a better singer than Kath ever was, but I still miss Kath on guitar. Jason Scheff is okay, buthe apparently has little songwriting skill. He is better than Cetera on bass and just as good a singer. Nevertheless, Cetera's voice is the authentic Chicago sound! Additionally, it was Cetera's songwriting in the 1980's that gave rebirth to Chicago's popularity.
All in all it is an excellent video. However, it would be nice to see a release from the 1970's… Read more
