In My Own Words:
i'm a fan of 'classic' country music plus i enjoy listening to Barry Manilow and watching Vincent Price movies. i'm also a fan of voice-actors, these are people who voice cartoon characters. my top-5 are Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, Don Messick, June Foray and Paul Frees. most of my reviews are rather long because i like to write. also, i'd like to try and enthuse anybody who might read something i wro… Read morei'm a fan of 'classic' country music plus i enjoy listening to Barry Manilow and watching Vincent Price movies. i'm also a fan of voice-actors, these are people who voice cartoon characters. my top-5 are Mel Blanc, Daws Butler, Don Messick, June Foray and Paul Frees. most of my reviews are rather long because i like to write. also, i'd like to try and enthuse anybody who might read something i wrote into checking out what i've reviewed.

This 4-DVD set is a wonderful look at the Looney Tunes from the start, through their glory years in the '40s and '50s, and on into the famed TV reruns and made-for-TV shorts in the '60s and '70s. The bulk of this DVD is filled with commentary from important people that were behind the scenes and from enthusiasts such as Leonard Maltin. The live-action interviews/commentary come from a wide variety of people. The two most popular producer-directors associated with the cartoons are showcased here: Friz Freleng and Chuck Jones. There's a lot of facial exaggerations as a tribute to Tex Avery...you know, eyes popping out of heads and tongues flapping a mile a minute and being pulled all over the place, etc. Tom and Jerry in this film still do not speak, unless you count the laughter out-bursts and the screams whenever there's trouble on the horizon… Read more

This DVD contains the first episode from 1969 with Loretta Lynn and Charley Pride. It also contains the famed "Hee-Haw Laffs" from 1996 as a bonus. Since it's the debut episode, the show is comprised of the same routines throughout the hour because that's all they had at the time. Minnie Pearl and Sheb Wooley make guest appearances. Sheb does his Ben Colder… Read more
