In My Own Words:
I like to take long walks on the beach under the beauty of the stars. I wish I lived near a beach though...I hate the punk rock attitude of 'I'm not going to conform by conforming to this other group that doesn't like the mainstream' yeah briliant all you rebels out there. My favorite band is Radiohead, they are geniuses aren't they?

5.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, Sep 10 2003
Probably the best word to describe One Word Extinguisher is "sexy" this album is perfect for a round of sweet love making.

While placed firmly in the Glitch Hop genre, this album doesn't sound like many of the other "Aphex Twin + Hip Hop" outfits in the scene right now. The incredibly warm production just lets the many blips and bleeps swirl around your head engulfing you in the sound. The perfect example of this is the song "Storm Returns" a track that is both somber, beautiful, and atmospheric, but also has a groove that will catch your attention and won't let go.

This album is just hard for anyone to hate. It's fun, yet intellegent; easy to listen to, but deep at the same time.

Grand Opening And Closing ~ Sleepytime Gorilla Museum
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum will frighten you the first time you listen to "Grand Opening and Closing", in fact, to anyone that considers Radiohead "the pinnacle of experimental rock" (hey man, got nothing against them, but they are hardly experimental), I advise you just stay away from this album.

Like a perfect mix of 70's and Thrak era King Crimson, The Residents, and Thinking Plague. SGM could best be described as Avant Prog, long winding "songs" that act more as collages of sound balance out the main pieces of music like Sleep is Wrong and 1997. And for the average music fan, this will be annoying as it gets. But for every listen you give the album, more of it becomes amazing to… Read more

De-loused in the Comatorium ~ The Mars Volta
De-loused in the Comatorium ~ The Mars Volta
At the Drive-In went prog? If you were an avid listener of ATDI throughout their run you probably noticed that Relationship of Command was their first album that started shifting from Indie rock to a more experimental fusion of many genres. And when I heard the band had split into two different camps, I knew TMV was going to be the better half by far.

So Tremulant comes and goes, and while it was a brilliant EP, I knew it was just TMV's warm up. De-loused in the Comatorium confirms that in every way.

Containing a sound more akin to Led Zeppelin, Yes, King Crimson, early Santana, and Syd Barret era Pink Floyd mixed together, then the post hardcore of ATDI; it's hard not to label it as… Read more
