How about killing 9 out of 10 soldiers at a base, or 3 out of 4 tigers with a bow and injections from flowers to help with hunting, and then dying on the last, having to restart the fight from the beginning in both cases, and losing 2 hours of your time because you can not control where you save in combat. It even puts you back to the nearest safe house or radio tower upon loading, NOT the place you saved it. I can't play games this way anymore because of this stress/annoyance! Save the save system, hehe, and based on 6 hours of gameplay, it's fun, I got into it! The crafting works well, and the game is very much alive with people and animals and weather! Fantastic graphics and physics, fun and clever puzzles, has it's moments. However it's also often tedious, boring, narrow and linear, drawn out, flat. It tries to have life to it, but it's too drawn out and dull too often to keep you really "in it" enjoying it for a game. It never really gives you it's punchline, rather keeps telling you it's around the next corner, and to keep going. It tries to do EVERYTHING: vehicles, gun fights, puzzles, graphics and physics, story, originality, weapons, varied locations. It is almost superficial maybe!!?? Trying to cover too much. They have tried to make Far Cry 2 but set in the future maybe, but it's horribly not there in my opinion. There are two different main elements to Rage: anything to do with vehicles, and then the levels. Far Cry 2 has these two elements also, however Far Cry 2 has successfully combined them, in that you can drive vehicles into or through the levels and use them there. Rage does not combine the vehicles and the levels, leaving two incompatible elements to try and form a game from. It is a big flaw in Rage.
