Of the 15 I have read so far in the Extraordinary Canadian series, this is perhaps the best. A whole new chapter in Pre-Confederation Canada, I now understand why my French Canadian ancestors renamed their community Lafontaine. Great work John Saul.

This true-to-life, well written book arrived promptly and was in the condition advertised. The road trip by the recently displaced English Major turned farmer is a classic road trip through the American West, full of puns and twists of fate along the trail. The hero is at an age where life is taking away rather than giving, something appreciated more by the over 50 set.

The book was used but delivered promptly and in good condition as advertised. This is a well researched book about developing a mining operation in the mountainous jungles of Indonesian with difficulties lurking at every bend in the trail.
