I discovered this CD during a yoga class at a meditation retreat in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. The beauty of the music struck me right away. I interrupted the teacher in the middle of class to find out what was this wonderful music. Bought the CD as soon as I got home. That was two months ago. Now I play it and play it and can't stop playing it. It's just extremely soothing and I don't get tired of it. My favorite is the classic Guyatri mantra. It's magic. Go buy this CD and do some spiritual healing.
Guys hate it (Well some do). Girls love it. She gets compared to this and that - to Christina Aguilera or to Jewel. Everyone is missing the point. The point is Nelly is 100% original. Once I listened to her album a couple of times, every song came to life. And I am convinced this is just a start. This is not an empty stylized Brittney Spears. This is an artist that will be with us for decades. If I were to compare her to anyone it would almost be a modern Janis Joplin. Just watch out. Nelly is only getting started. She will dominate music for years. Madonna? No, Nelly is better, she is even more talented. I could go on. I am really blown away.
this must be one of the greatest cuts of music ever. Why do I say this? i am an avid music listener and I like to share my music with friends. I have come to expect that for any one CD, some will like it, like myself, others not so much. What is unique about Spirit of the Forest is that everyone I play it for, falls in love with the music - literally! People with every kind of musical taste are just struck by the joyfullness and soothing effect of the music. So I keep giving away this CD as a gift. Try it for yourself. You will not regret.
