This CD can really transmit a true experience of the Holy Spirit,
now I know what they mean by 'Something got a Hold of Me'.
So much of contemporary 'gospel' music tries hard but is
sadly just faking it, and no one even knows anymore what it
used to be all about. If you want a taste of the
True Power, this is it.

I had assumed this book to be new-age fluff after having
seen it referenced so often in other new-age fluff books.
So I was quite surprised to find that it is really a
fascinating scientific biography, a genre I am
personally addicted to. The 'love story' wanders into the
fluff zone occasionally, and the chemistry recipe book
wanders into extreme alchemical arcana, but overall its
a comprehensive compendium that is unique as far as I know,
and a valuable record of the behind-the-scenes history
of the California new-age 80's. I am only puzzled at
Dr. Shulgin's lack of comment or experience in the traditional

The DVD version is definitely the way to watch this film, as there are only a few good scenes, with the rest being pretty formulaic and saccharine, the usual impossibly nice and impossibly rich Hollywood fantasy character as hammed by Robin Williams. Yet for all its nauseating flaws, the movie's got a few killer scenes that are both visually stunning AND thought provoking to boot! This alone is so extremely rare in these last days of the decline of Western civilisation, that it is worth catching. For me, it was a poignant expression of Sartre's immortal insight that 'Hell is other people'. Indeed. And heaven is a garden of eden with perhaps just one or two other people.
