Go Fish (Full Screen) DVD ~ V.S. Brodie
Go Fish (Full Screen) DVD ~ V.S. Brodie
So here's how it happens: Max (Turner) is a young lesbian, not knowing exactly what to look for in a mate. Current qualifications: fashion sense. Needness to say, she's not having an easy time, until her roommate, a more experienced woman, begins to take an interest in finding someone for the lonely girl.

This movie portrays lesbian life in a very accurate way. The way the characters speak, dress and gesture all have a strong sense of reality. At the same time, the conversations are frequently quite funny and insightful. It's a wonderful and rare mix of humour and education, thanks to an extreamly well written script.

The only real weakness is the acting. The entire movie feels as… Read more

Having heard before hand, that Brian DePalma's "Blow Out" was like a tribute to Antonioni's "Blow Up", i was definately intreagued. "Blow Up" is one of the greatest art films I've ever seen, and knowing that tributes are never as good as the original, i knew not to expect too much.

Travolta is able to rescue the woman, but the man behind the wheel was dead before he could be helped. Upon listening to the tape he'd made that night, Travolta recovers what he believes… Read more

Tank Girl (Widescreen) DVD ~ Lori Petty

Ok, it's not "The Godfather" or anything. Nothing much went into the acting or such things. It's just another crappy mid-90's action movie. Or is it?

Not even close. "Tank Girl" is not about quality, it's about attitude, and Lori Petty has attitude to boot. Her constant puns and jokes could come off as annoying, like they do in the Batman movies, which have ended up aging about as well as milk, but Petty really pulls it off, with her Gwen Stefani style, dirty mouth, and a seemingly endless stream of energy.

Plot (not like it matters) is as follows: 2033, there's nothing but endless sand. There's even a shortage of water! All that's left is in the hands of a… Read more
