This book was a huge disappointment. I was looking for a book that would complement my yoga practice by offering up insights, guidance, pose modifications, and tips for plus sized yoga practitioners. I looked forward to the full yoga routine the description promised. So, it is difficult to express just how much I hate this book, but since I'm too cheap to spend the money mailing it back to Amazon, I'll give it a try to save the rest of you folks from spending the $15.

This DVD is a good overall introduction to yoga for beginners. The segments are sorted into either AM routines or PM routines. The shorter routines are basically focussing on breath, with the addition of a couple of relaxing poses, while the longer sequences are a combination of backbends, twists, leg stretches, and inversions that provide a good full body stretch.

Most of my focus has been on the PM routines, since that is when I have time to do yoga. My favourite is the Energizing Evening, and I find I am always surprised it goes by so fast, so I can say it does keep my attention throughout. I have been trying for a while to find a yoga workout that is gentle enough for someone who is trying to get back into exercise, increase flexibility, and recover from a back injury. I have tried in-person yoga classes, but while the first couple of classes would be great, by the 3rd or 4th class, I had to modify the poses, and in later classes the moves would have progressed so much that I wasn't able to do anything that resembled the actual pose. It just resulted in a feeling of self-consciousness and shame.
