1.0 out of 5 stars Yawn, Feb. 11 2009
As a life long James Taylor fan, I love much of what he has done. Unfortunately, this would have to be the dullest record he has ever made (along with One Man Band from '07). Could he really be the next Perry Como?

Live At The Court Tavern ~ the Smithereens
Pat Dinizio and company formed in 1980, so it is quite remarkable how rockin this disc is, after some 28 years. Crystal clear production and an absolute minimum of crowd noise make this the best live album of 2008! Check out the interplay on "House We Used to Live In" and, while you're at it, the Batman theme. DiNizio's vocals sound like a man twenty years younger. Five stars!

5.0 out of 5 stars Surprisingly Old School, June 12 2008
I had not heard of Jackie Greene before (or since) buying this disc but I must say it grows on you. Your first reference should be the back cover picture which features Mr. Greene underneath some posters of classic rockers. Closest established artist comparison would be later day Peter Wolf but the tunes are varied, the playing is beautifully sloppy and overall I give it five stars.
