I simply could not get into this book. I don't know what it was about Hayley that annoyed me so much, but I did not like her. I think a lot of her dialogue was supposed to be witty and funny. Instead it came across as being immature. I got about halfway through and gave up.

The plot was very basic. It's a simple friends to lovers story. If you're a fab of inspie and small-town life this book would probably appeal to you. My only complain is that Amanda seemed very weak to me. I wish she was stronger. All in all it's a decent enough read.

I think anyone who has picked up this book has heard about the real life apartment in Paris that was locked up for years. That part of the story is actually true.

I have mixed feelings about this novel. I really enjoyed Marthe's story, but April's not so much. April was an emotional mess. She annoyed me and I did not find her likable. I didn't like Luc either. Why she was attracted to him is beyond me. I won't get into spoilers here because it would ruin the read for others, but stupid mistakes were made in my opinion that were not justified.
