The Singer of All Songs: Book One in the Chanters &hellip by Kate Constable
5.0 out of 5 stars An excellent fantasy, Nov 14 2004
I won't go into the plot, because it's already described in the Amazon review, but I will tell you what I thought of this book during and after I read it.

Well, I don't usually read fantasy, but this was really, really good, and I don't regret reading it. When I saw the book, I made an exception because I skimmed through it beforehand, and it looked easy to read. And it was! It wasn't boring, dull or hard to read... like how I find some fantasy books (though those are mainly adult ones).

5.0 out of 5 stars Kill Bill Volume 1, July 13 2004
Uma Thurman plays the ultimate kick-ass, no-holds-barred chick in Kill Bill. I completely loved her character.

I'm warning you: there are a few scenes that have a high 'ick' factor, but actually, the worst gross scene in Vols. 1 & 2 combined was the "eyeball in the trailer" scene in Vol. 2. Oh God, ew. Vol. 1 does get pretty gory, but the way Quentin did it, you can almost think of the movie as Japanese animation, but with people. It didn't bother me too much.

Okay, there IS a cliffhanger ending... but that's because Kill… Read more

All-American Girl by Meg Cabot
All-American Girl by Meg Cabot
This book is about a girl named Samantha (Sam) Madison. Like most other heroines in Meg Cabot's books, Sam has something unusual and bizarre happen to her, something which happens to be a blessing in disguise.

Sam saves the president of the United States from assassination by jumping on the back of the attacker. She ends up breaking her arm, but saving the life of the leader of the free world.

I liked Sam's character. Sam's something of an urban rebel slash sensitive artist slash middle-child reject (her words, not mine). She dresses all in black, as she is in mourning for her generation. But I've got to say, Sam was a pretty believably character. I found her quirks really… Read more
