In My Own Words:
My goal in life is to get to the bottom of my 'to be read' pile of books and to always return my library book on time. Alas, neither seems a real possibility. I have always been a reader, more at home within a book, then sometimes I am with real life. My two grown children look upon my book habit as a benign oddity to be tolerated. Alas, neither seems a real possibility. I have always been a reader, more at home within a book, then sometimes I am with real life. My two grown children look upon my book habit as a benign oddity to be tolerated. When I finally became brave enough to remarry (the very first boy I ever dated back in Texas) I was fortunate enough to find a reader like me. He just doesn't understand why I can't get my library book back by the due dates. My four grandchildren (God's reward for not killing my own children) love to find books at Grandma and Pop Pop’s house.
I have always found adventure, retreat, solace and refuge in books...I like to see what others have thought of books I have read or want to read...and put my two cents worth in as well. I am always on the lookout for a good read.
I have been working in the healthcare field for over 20 years. I have also worked as a gas pump jockey, swimming teacher, lifeguard, skip tracer, beer and peanut vendor at Texas Ranger games and my all time favorite...as a go-for for Billy Martin when he managed the Rangers. My dream is to find a job that allows me to translate all these years of reading and reviewing into an actual paying job. A girl can dream, can't she?
I love baseball, was over the moon when the Texas Rangers made it to the World Series (both times), am an old Washington Senators fan, love to read, am an incurable letter writer, journal keeper, have a wicked sense of humor and have a laugh that can be heard and identified across the old Salt Palace during a Utah Jazz game. Alas, my affection for the Jazz will never quite match my affection for the Dallas Chaparrals of the ABA. I watch as many Texas Rangers baseball games as I can catch on TV and hung onto hope till the final pitch of the 2011 World Series. I still have an active library card from the Grand Prairie Public Library that was my home away from home as a child, and was given the actual copy of Apples Every Day I had checked out 247 times by the wonderful women who worked there... My prized possession is a first edition copy of The Lion's Paw by Rob White.
Feel free to e-mail me with comments.

Facing a busy schedule and travel and everyday stress, Alice isn't concerned when she begins to forget little things, where the keys are, names of acquaintances or… Read more
